The river will be flowing at max ebb so the current is strong on the east bank, the wind chop will help blow us back up to the battleship. Spray skirt is required.
Minimum boat length: 12'; average paddling speed: at least 3 mph and endurance is required. This is NOT for beginners!
This is an endurance workout, expect to be paddling uninterrupted for two hours at a fair pace.
You need to sign up individually (no guests) and should your plans change, please make sure you change your RSVP as well. Allow a little extra time to get your gear ready. You need to bring your own kayak with paddle and as always, wearing a PFD equipped with a whistle is required. Needless to say: you must be a swimmer. You should consider bringing self rescue equipment like a paddle float, stirrup and bilge pump.
