Migrating to Spring Boot 2 and Webflux @ TravelStart

Major framework upgrades are often dreaded by developers and either delayed or avoided altogether for this reason.

Spring Framework 5 GA was released in September 2017 and Spring Boot 2 GA was released in March 2018.

Trevor Gowing recently migrated a few projects of varying sizes from either traditional deployment or Boot 1.5 to Boot 2 and would like to share some new features as well as some of the gotchas to watch out for during the migration process to hopefully reduce some of the dread and help you with your own upgrade.

Now that we have migrated to Boot 2 including Framework 5, Trevor will compare MVC style endpoints to reactive endpoints and perhaps even demonstrate a migration from one to the other.
