MSDUG United: GitHub Actions with Xamarin, Covid Exposure and an Intro to AKS

Details
This will be our first joint online meetup during lock-down. Even though we can't travel to each province and meet in person, let's all be united in tech virtually!
Intro Session
What's new and what's all happening in the community?
Speaker: Allan Pead
Session 1 - The Pandemic Approach to CI for Xamarin Apps with GitHub Actions
Are you wanting to lockdown the CI for your Xamarin apps? Well, I want to show you how you can flatten the curve of learning with a short intro on building and testing Xamarin apps using GitHub Actions. By adding some disinfectant to your workflow, you can quarantine any viruses before they get merged. They are not going to do any social distancing with your code! And, they are certainly not going to self isolate! You will be able to use GitHub Actions to sanitize any code before it infects the rest of the population. By taking a few precautions, users will say "nature is healing" and give you that 5-star review.
Speaker: Matthew Leibowitz
Session 2 - Getting started with Azure Kubernetes Service
Have you heard the term Kubernetes? Does the buzz term scare you? Fear not. Microsoft has taken all of the difficult parts in hosting and managing Kubernetes out of the equation. With Azure Kubernetes Service things have become significantly easier. This getting started session will cover starting off with a new project and putting down all the bits and pieces to get your application into containers managed by Kubernetes. We'll also chat around basic troubleshooting and the features provided by Microsoft that simplify the process of managing Kubernetes with AKS.
Speaker: Antonio De Almeida
Session 3 - Xamarin Exposure Notifications
With the virus running around free and the humans hiding at home, Microsoft has been working alongside Apple and Google to provide a way in which governments, health providers and other approved organizations can keep you safe.
The Xamarin.ExposureNotification project is a comprehensive repository with client and server implementations for building a solution to keep you safe. It is not just an API, but a client mobile app and a scalable, serverless backend. Come along to have a look at not only a useful implementation, but also a nice way to get started with a Xamarin.Forms mobile app with a backend consisting of Azure Functions, SQL Server and blob storage.
Speaker: Matthew Leibowitz
Hope to see you all soon!
