Details

Welcome back to the November CT PHP meetup! This promises to be another great meetup. We are gathering at Superbalist (in Foreshore) so be sure to RSVP!

Talk One:
Beginners guide to testing your legacy Laravel app - Intro to all the testing options built into Laravel, as well as some tips on how to write tests, which types of tests to write when, and some other tips to speed up your testing process.

About the speaker

Jon Bossenger - Lead developer at Castos, open source advocate, generally nice guy.

Talk Two:
PHP Retro for the Decade - From "A fractal of bad design" to redemption
PHP gets a bad rap outside the community. A lot of it is arguably justified. This talk will be short dive into PHP's evolution in the past decade. What went wrong, what went right, and how the PHP community has changed for the better.

About the speaker
Nik Spyratos (www.thecapegreek.co.za) -
Just an old man (in spirit) who writes bugs for a living and fixes them in his spare time. Or is it the other way around?
