We're excited to announce that our next meetup will be at Stellenbosch for the very first time!

Fintec Labs (https://www.fintec.group/#fintec-labs) have agreed to sponsor us their incredible space.

Thank you to NedRock (http://nedrock.com/) for sponsoring pizza for the event.

EVENT DETAILS:
Our story begins in 2015 when my co-founder, Matthew and I were studying Engineering at the University of Cape Town. We had one thing in common: We both hated bad customer service!

After discovering the Design Thinking Methodology - the human-centric approach for building innovations and products - It was clear that we wanted to help companies become more customer-centric. We started M&W Innovation studio – an agency that provided companies with insights into their customer’s mindsets and challenges.

Our work at M&W entailed interviewing dozens of customers and obtaining feedback from hundreds of surveys. We often sat with hours and hours of audio and many pages of text (unstructured data) that we had to analyse. We would spend days playing back recordings and manually looking for patterns -with every hour taking us four times as long to analyse.

Realising that the process wasn’t scalable, we looked for software that we could use to analyse audio conversations and surveys. Failing to find anything we set out to build Voyc and it has been an exciting journey ever since.

Ever called a contact centre and heard the automated message “This call maybe recorded for quality and training purposes”? Well, Voyc’s primary commercial offering is a conversation analytics platform that helps companies automatically analyse those recorded conversations.
Today, Voyc is growing incredibly fast with customers like Standard Bank, Discovery, 1Life and Primedia as well as Global Companies like Beiersdorf (Nivea) all using the platform to analyse conversations.

It wasn’t always smooth sailing and in this talk I share all the pivots and turns we took to reach product market fit.
