Facts, Fiction and Friction - Believing the unbelievable.
We will have a friendly, informal discussion over a frosty beverage; Truth and Facts are becoming rare commodities. Falsehoods, lies and the discrediting and subversion of factual information in today's world is becoming a more common occurrence. How do we know what we can trust? What is true and right? An ignorant, ill-informed public makes for easy pickings for manipulation and indoctrination. Are we heading towards the Dark Ages 2.0? Does a secular perspective improve one's thinking skills? We will also discuss a few plans and ideas for later in the year. Please join us for a not too serious mid-day outing. Folks are welcome to linger longer or stay for a bite to eat.

    What we're about

    Public Group

This group is for those keen to meet and socialise with other freethinkers, particularly atheists and secularists. Our meetings are usually light and social, and sometimes we have discussions or presentations. The group is run by South African Secular Society (registered NPO) leaders - see our website - ( Our goals are to develop and support the non-religious community in South Africa, to provide opportunities for socialising and secular education, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist/non-believing culture, to defend the principle of separation of religion and government and to oppose discrimination against the non-religious in South Africa. We also have interests in supporting human rights including those of LGBTI people, and children. Also see our sister group in Johannesburg -
