CASSUG monthly meeting 2017-01-09

Details

Our first meeting for 2017 is just around the corner on Monday January 9th, 2017. As usual we will begin with food and soft drinks at 5:30 PM. Move on to chapter and sponsor announcements at about 6:10 PM, and then finally we will have our technical presentation beginning about 6:20 PM. If you plan to attend, please RSVP through our Meetup site: https://www.meetup.com/Capital-Area-SQL-Server-User-Group/This month we have Josef Richberg who will be making his presentation on SSIS enhanced threading frameworks.

"SSIS has parallel processing built-in to take advantage of the multi-core system which are standard in today's business world. To take full advantage of this combination you need to be aware of workload distribution, pipeline elimination, and thread management concepts. In this presentation I will go over my Enhanced Threading Frame work to help improve throughput, performance and efficiency."

Josef's bio: A SQL practitioner for over 20 years specializing in performance & tuning. I currently work for Penguin Group (US), designing, enhancing, and improving, the sql experience for many of the data warehouse applications. I have been heavily involved in designing and implementing SSIS packages. I am the RedGate '2009 Exceptional DBA' award winner.

This should be a great presentation to kick off our 2017. I hope to see you all there.
