What we're about

We are friends of Capital NVC, Inc., a nonprofit organization committed to the growth of Nonviolent Communication in the Greater Washington DC Metropolitan Area and to creating peace and understanding in the world. Nonviolent Communication (NVC, also called Collaborative Communication or Compassionate Communication) offers a set of ideas and tools designed to help foster understanding of and compassion for ourselves and others, and support us in living in alignment with our deepest values.

These ideas and tools can be used in everyday conversation, to transform conflict situations, and to support personal well-being and all kinds of relationships. We've found them to be useful in a wide variety of contexts -- personal relationships, parenting, work environments, in healing trauma and facilitating reconciliation -- and in living in a way that offers more aliveness, joy, and love.

We welcome all who are curious about how to relate to ourselves and each other in more satisfying ways. To learn more about Capital NVC, Inc., visit http://www.capitalnvc.org .

When: Sun, 01/20/2019 - 1:00pm - 4:15pm What: Nonviolent Communication (NVC) basics Led by: Barbra Esher, certified NVC trainer Location: Bolton Street Synagogue (behind the Royal Farms store) 212 W. Coldspring Lane, Baltimore, MD 21210 New year, new consciousness! The basic principles, skills, and differentiations of NVC will be presented and experienced via practice using our own personal challenges. Even if you are an experienced compassionate communication practitioner, welcome! Be open to abundant and transformational new insights. This Baltimore event occurs monthly on the third Sunday, to support NVC understanding and practice. We welcome new participants at any level. It’s fun when a ‘newbie’ comes and we, ‘newbies’ not so long ago, suddenly see that we’ve learned something important we can pass on, at the same time deepening our understanding of new contexts. If you're already skilled in NVC, we would enjoy sharing support and companionship. $$ info: The requested fee is $20 per person. Please don't let the cost keep you from coming. Sustainability is important to us but contribution even more so, which we can't do unless you show up! Bring snacks to share if you would like.
