Using Google Analytics & How Getting Social Can Benefit You

Details
At the last meetup, we got some great insight into setting up your theme, security and how best to handle your projects and your clients. Following the same format of tech-heavy and business-oriented, this month we’ve got two excellent speakers who are going to give us the lowdown on stats in WordPress, Google Tag Manager, and how to shout about your business to the rest of the world!
Just as a heads up, we’re introducing an Honesty Jar this month. A bit like a swear jar, we’d like you to throw some coins in there every time you grab a drink - this will just help to cover this cost. Oh, and if you’re thirsty for a drink we haven’t been providing, let us know and we’ll see what we can do.
Doors Open At 18:00, we aim to get started around 18:30

It’s a Game of Google: Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics
Nathan Stockford – works at Yard and is lead organizer for Cardiff Measure Camp
@stockfordn
Nathan will be talking us through web analytics and giving useful insights. He will go over the why and how it can be used to collect useful data for your site, and/or clients.
As part of his talk, Nathan will take us over to Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager. Google Analytics might not be the most user-friendly stats tool but it’s very important and it’s something we should be using. Why? All will be revealed by Nathan.

When it comes to running a business, it’s easy to get caught up in the financials, business planning, and meeting deadlines. This means you can easily forget about the design of your business and how you communicate with the rest of the world about it.
So in this talk, Melin is going to give us some clear steps to consider on how to keep your business appearance nice and tidy for the rest of the world to see:
-
Design: Your website, your brand and how you go about designing
-
Focus: Providing a clear and focused message about your business
-
Relations: Putting a friendly face to your business relationships
-
Social Media: Understanding the importance of being social
