Lit & Laughter Book Club
Everybody needs a good laugh sometimes! The Lit & Laughter book group meets on Wednesday, August 22. "Calypso" by David Sedaris will be discussed. If you've ever laughed your way through David Sedaris' cheerfully misanthropic stories, you might think you know what you're getting with Calypso. You'd be wrong. With Calypso, Sedaris sets his formidable powers of observation toward middle age and mortality. These stories are very, very funny, its a book that can make you laugh 'til you snort, the only way family can.

What we're about

Welcome to the Carnegie-Stout Public Library Meetup group! Our library offers a wide range of activities and programs for both families and individuals of all ages. This group is dedicated to events for adults 18 and older. You can find a list of all library events on our event calendar at .

You can also find us on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram by clicking on the icons on the left hand side of this page.

Many of our events require registration and this will be noted in the title of the meetup. To register, you must either call the library at 563-589-4225 and ask for the Reference desk or register online using the link included in the meetup description. Registration is due to limited space and supplies for the events.

All of our events are free and open to the public. Most are between 1 and 2 hours long. If registration is required, we will note that in the description.

Some of our group events may be intended for members with children that might accompany them to Meetups. However, inclusion in this group is for individuals over 18. (This disclaimer is required by policy).

Welcome to our Meetup group! We look forward to seeing you at a future event.
