What we're about

By day, we are teachers, students, writers, homemakers, nurses, accountants, doctors, attorneys, administrative assistants ... you name it. When we gather to sing ... we are the award-winning "Carolina Harmony Chorus".

A proud member of Sweet Adelines International, we sing women's four-part a cappella harmony. We maintain extraordinarily high standards for singing. And we have So. Much. Fun.

Our repertoire ranges from ballads and uptunes to jazz, pop, and rock and roll. We love to sing, and it shows. We perform across the region for public events, charity affairs, retirement communities and more. And we participate in highly competitive Sweet Adelines regional and international contests. In 2013 and 2015, we won first place among small choruses at the Sweet Adelines International competition. We were also named most entertaining chorus in the audience choice awards in 2015. At the regional level, Carolina Harmony took second place overall at our regional contest. We have also won first place among the region's small choruses in 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014 ... and that's just for starters. In 2018, we placed 2nd in International competition with our "Mermaids in Space" package.

Our members come from all over North Carolina's Triangle area -- and even from as far as Wilmington. We range in age from 24 to 84. And while our musical backgrounds vary, we share a common love of music and the desire to grow as individual singers and as an ensemble. We're serious about making beautiful music. And we seriously have a good time making it. Come check us out! We welcome visitors to our Tuesday evening rehearsals at 7:15 pm at the St. Giles Presbyterian Church in Raleigh and audition new members year-round.

**QUICK NOTE: Please don't hesitate to come visit one of our rehearsals, even if you see low numbers in the meetup event RSVP's. We have many members who do not even use meetup! Please join us for our rehearsal this Tuesday night! We rehearse and accept visitors and new members year-round.

Things are constantly changing but right now we are singing INSIDE spread out on risers with masks OPTIONAL. Singer's mask or mask with a face frame are recommended for better air flow if you wear one.

We start with physical warm-ups around 7:15, followed by vocal warm-ups. Then we do our musical rehearsal for about 2h with a short break in middle - the content usually varies based on our upcoming events - at the moment we are preparing for a performance this summer and for Sweet Adelines International Competition in Louisville in October!

What to wear:
Casual clothing, comfortable shoes - and bring some water!

Don'ts
Please do not wear anything with any strong fragrance, and no smoking or vaping in the vicinity of singers :)
