For this meetup we are excited to be joined by Nate McCall, Co-Founder & Senior Technical Consultant at The Last Pickle who will be discussing hardening Cassandra clusters for compliance.
What You'll Learn At This Meetup:
Security is always at odds with usability, particularly in the context of operations and development. More so when dealing with a distributed system such as Apache Cassandra. In this presentation, we'll walk through the steps required to completely secure a Cassandra cluster to meet most regulatory and compliance guidelines.
Specifically, we'll discuss:
• Different types of at-rest disk encryption options available (and how to tune them)
• Configuring SSL for inter-cluster communication- Configuring SSL between clients and the API
• Configuring and managing client authentication
• Securing JMX access
Attendees will leave this meetup with the knowledge required to harden Cassandra to meet most guidelines imposed by regulations and compliance.
*Food and drinks will be served, hope to see you there!
*Big thank you to Shehaaz and the Expedia team for hosting.
