Exploration & Potluck

Details
Please join the Castle Rock Unitarian Universalist Community (CRUUC) on Sunday, August 18, 2019, for an exploration into the theme “curiosity” -- and practices that cultivate it in communities -- with guest speaker Rev. Jeannie Shero.
Many elements are needed to form and sustain healthy communities. Curiosity is vital because of its power to spark connections between people and ideas. It entices beyond the surface of relationships, and assumptions held about one another, into deeper connection. It is an essential tool when challenges or conflicts arise. Curiosity enriches discussions and decision making at every level of community life.
Please remember to bring some water from a place that is special to you. https://www.uua.org/worship/holidays/water-communion
Rev. Jeannie Shero began her ministry in Denver as an intern at First Unitarian Society. She served for eight and a half years as the Assistant, Associate, and then Senior Minister of First Universalist Church of Denver. She attended Iliff School of Theology and has extensive training and experience as a chaplain. She loves motherhood, comedy, music, friends, and being a Unitarian Universalist minister. Rev. Jeannie lives in Denver with her daughter, two dogs, and a parakeet.
CRUUC meetings are held every 3rd Sunday of the month at 3737 New Hope Way, Castle Rock, CO, 80109, in the Castle Rock Room of New Hope Presbyterian Church**. Potluck Sign Up
There are approximately 25-30 people attending: some are gluten free, vegetarian or vegans, and one of our youth is allergic to tree nuts. Please let us know what you will be bringing to the potluck by signing up online. Go to: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ChXaLbKXO-nnmtbHjpa8Nk0Y9I2YY_flijuhni6HcbQ/edit?usp=sharing so we can make sure we don’t get all desserts, or all wine — although both of those scenarios sound like a non-problem. You may also sign up to help with setting up or cleaning up.
