Fall color hike up Canyon Creek
This is an 8 mile roundtrip hike to a charming waterfall on the Canyon Creek Trail (We call it Four Mile Falls). We're hoping for a spectacular showing of fall colors contrasting with the white granite we'll be hiking into. Regardless of what the foliage is doing, this trail offers up views that just keep getting better the higher you go. It's a moderate trail for experienced hikers. Beginners may find it taxing, but it is a wonderful introduction to the Trinity Alps. Expect around 1500 feet elevation gain from the trailhead to the falls. We will meet outside Holiday Market (formerly Tops) in Weaverville at 8am and drive to Canyon Creek Trail arriving at around 9am. We expect to be back at the trailhead at around 5 pm. Bring snacks, lunch and water. We will have lunch at the waterfall. Those of you who have hiked with us before know that we hike at a leisurely pace with frequent snack breaks and photography breaks. You are welcome to hike ahead and meet us at the waterfall for lunch.

What we're about

This is a group for those interested in the unique area of the Trinity Alps Wilderness for hiking, camping, adventure, science and more!

During 2014 we hosted a number of activities in support of the 30th Anniversary of the official Wilderness Designation and those were so much fun we decided to just keep going!!
