What we're about

This group is intended for anyone with an interest in how technology works and what you can do with it for fun and profit. The focus is on learning about and sharing experiences with open source software, hardware, and related materials, including mobile/embedded platforms, as well as how to employ them for positive effect. Both hands-on projects and guest speakers are on the agenda. There will also be lots of hacking (in the classical MIT sense) and some #opticalexperiments ;)

Needs a date and time

Cafe Noir

Time to do something again (proposal deadline is almost here) to welcome the new folks, so an open source hardware and software demo of Python and Arduino code sounds good...

Need to work out a location, maybe more northerly than SM, then schedule a day/time. Assuming normal-ish work schedules for most people, we could do Saturday morning/afternoon in SM or pick another place/time.

Stay tuned...

So we're still in the conference-presentation train until end of March, and we'll be having another event (to be announced) for open document freedom day...

I want to schedule this thing, but we only have the one place in Santa Maria so far that's central-ish for everyone (and just to be nice we won't even count Donald in Carp, so SLO people still get a deal ;)

The room is nice, but the only workable time is 1 pm Saturday, so please suggest an alternate if you have a place and time that can work. I'll update when I get a Saturday slot reserved.
