Async Programming in Android
Welcome to another round of Android talks. We reserved the main room at PowerDMS so there is plenty of space for learning and networking! We are focusing on architecture and best practices this month. Mark Houston Simplifying async programming with Kotlin coroutines Asynchronous programming can be very important, but a pain to do with AsyncTasks. In this talk, we will be going over Kotlin Coroutines to see how we can simplify asynchronous tasks and the benefits over RxJava. Mark is currently a Jr Android Developer at TravelTab in Winter Park. He is looking to get more involved in tech community of Orlando. Ben Badio The Navigation Architecture Component: Charting Your Path Strap on your jetpack and start your journey with the Navigation, one of the most highly anticipated Android Architecture Components announced at Google I/O 2018. This talk will include an overview of the component’s features and a live coding example of the Navigation component in action. Bon Voyage!
