About the talk...

Python is a popular powerful programming language and is growing in popularity for data science. The GPU Open Analytics Initiative focuses on creating common data frameworks to enable developers and statistical researchers to accelerate data science on GPUs. This talk will highlight the performance gains possible and discuss how a programmer can take advantage of the GPU-accelerated analytics without having to know anything about GPUs.

About the speaker...

Brad Rees is a Senior Solution Architect at NVIDIA, where he assists customers with maximizing their GPU experience. Brad has been designing, implementing, and supporting a variety of advanced software and hardware systems within the defense and research communities for over 30 years. Brad specializes in complex analytic systems, primarily using graph analytic techniques for social and cyber network analysis. His technical interests are in HPC, machine learning, deep learning, and graph. Brad has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Florida Institute of Technology.
