Our Reason to Relay

We are making a difference by teaming up to participate in the American Cancer Society?s Relay For Life.

Saving lives from cancer starts one team, one participant, and one dollar at a time. Our team is doing our part to make sure that cancer never steals another year of anyone?s life.

Why you should be a part of the team?

Being on an American Cancer Society Relay For Life team is an amazing experience!

Picture the scene: you?re surrounded by your team members, urging each other on to make another lap around the track, and the air is filled with the sound of laughter and sometimes tears, as our community celebrates those who have fought cancer, remembers the loved ones we?ve lost, and fights back against a disease that has taken too much from too many.

For many people who attend Relay For Life, one of the most moving parts of the event is the Ceremony of Hope. As the light dims over campsites and team members complete laps, the night is brightened by the glow of lighted bags called luminaria, each of which has a special meaning. Some luminaria celebrate the survivorship of people who have battled cancer and lived to tell the tale. Many commemorate the lives of those who have been lost to this disease. All represent a person who has been profoundly affected by cancer and the family and friends who continue to be touched by that experience.

It would be an honor to have you on our team for this year?s Relay For Life. The American Cancer Society is saving lives by helping people stay well, helping people get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back.

Are you ready to join the fight?

At the event, our team will camp out overnight and take turns walking around the track to raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society.

Lets do our part to help create a world with less cancer and more birthdays!
