What we're about

The Central Ohio Photo Group is designed with the Beginner to Advanced Amateur Photographer in mind. The Meet Ups are intended to help aspiring photographers learn and grow their craft through "doing" not "Reading". We want this group to be an easy learning experience, but fun is the most important aspect.

On our Meet Ups, we suggest you bring a camera, possibly a tri-pod, flash, memory cards, an on-camera flash and whatever other equipment is appropriate. No specific camera or equipment is needed to attend any of our Meet-ups! So, how's that sound?

Join us and let's all learn something about our craft!

"Depth of field" (DOF) learning event. Starts now - Jan 10.

Your world

We all should spend time on both sides of the lectern. We should both teach and learn with this exercise. Those who know about DOF should post pictures that demonstrate the concept of shallow and/or deep DOF and explain how they achieved that DOF. As you see the posted photos, you should attempt to control the DOF in a photo and post your work WITH COMMENTS ON WHAT YOU DID. Also, feel free to ask for advice about your photos or others. Together the membership of this group has all the knowledge we need.

For this who want to delve more thoroughly into the subject can avail themselves of the on-line "Cambridge in Color" learning tools which go deep into all aspects of photography.

Gray (and grey) Days (Redux for 2022) - starts Dec. 21, 2021 - until Spring 2022

Let's get out and capture something SO available to Central Ohioans in winter - gray days. Since it's easy for these shots to be ho-hum, let's see what we can do to portray that this season can be more attractive. This starts now and is not a contest, so all are welcome to comment (with kind words) on postings.
This was Cheryl's event last year and it was fun, so let's do it again. Let's show Covid that it can't kill our spirit. Just be safe when you're shooting.
