New Meetup: The Mad Hatter's Evening Garden Party!

From: Tricia J.
Sent on: Saturday, March 13, 2010 8:43 PM
We've changed the date for this gathering, realizing that the original date was so close to Easter. If you've RSVP'd and cannot make the new date, simply change your RSVP to "No" and I will refund your RSVP fee. Otherwise, you remain RSVP'd for the new date and need do nothing except show up in your millinery finery!

Announcing a new Meetup for Central Texas Foodies!

What: The Mad Hatter's Evening Garden Party!

When: Saturday, May 22,[masked]:00 PM

Price: $5.00 per person

Where:
Bev Smith's
13209 Billiem Drive
Austin, TX 78727
[masked]

Beverly Smith has offered her home for an evening garden party, under her large oak trees, strung with soft white lights. Think of a cross between the Mad Hatter?s tea party from Alice in Wonderland and the birthday dinner in the movie Chocolat (unfortunately, Johnny Depp does not currently have his boat moored at the nearby creek?so dessert will be at the house).

Food suggestions include, but are not limited to, finger sandwiches (or a tray of sandwich makings), sliced meats and rolls, scones, fresh fruit with clotted cream, pastries, raw veggies with dip, fondue, Italian ices, wine, or anything chocolate. Beverly?s son will be grilling chicken, shrimp, and veggie shish kabobs. Beverly will provide the Earl Grey tea and Ginger wine, and she will be bringing out her collection of whimsical pottery (bring your own pieces if you have any, or happen to pass a thrift shop).

Beverly has a request?please wear a hat, any hat, homemade or store bought. There will be door prizes for the best hats.

The party will move indoors in case of bad weather. There is a cat in the home.
