Hello Tricia,

I can host the appetizer potluck at my house on Saturday, August 21st at 7:00 pm.? I am attending school right now, and it is a date that will work for me, sandwiched after the end of my summer semester and just before the start of my new fall semester.

Let me know if that works for you.?

Take care,

Leslie Stavrowsky

I've emailed Michelle about her idea for a baking meetup, and as soon as I hear back from her as to a date and time that will work for her, that will be scheduled.

Sometime this summer we'll be having our annual (and very popular) Appetizer Potluck - it'll be our third. We need someone to volunteer to host it.

I was thinking that an interesting idea for a potluck would be "Guilty Pleasures". You know, those things you eat that you feel just a little bit embarrassed about because they're not "fancy" enough or the ingredients include something like Cool Whip and canned fruit cocktail, but they're just so good and satisfying! We could each bring our own guilty pleasure to share, whether it be something we make or something we buy. This, too, would need a host.

In addition, there will be dinners out in addition to the monthly Asia Cafe Round Table event. I'm planning on scheduling a dinner all the way out in Jarrell, at Ruby's Cafe. I've eaten there three times thusfar, have had the very best Chicken Fried Steak I've EVER had (she has a secret technique), and everything else I've eaten there has been superb. Good home cooking, tucked away in a tiny strip center in Jarrell, Texas - one of those secrets you really need to share with me. Suggestions for other foodie secrets we should try are more than welcome. Keeping in mind the current economy, if they're affordable, all the better! Great food doesn't have to be expensive, and I'd rather pay for food than atmosphere any day!

Brunch has been suggested. We've had brunch before, and I'm up for scheduling it again. Might need a guest organizer; if you're willing to do this, and have a favorite brunch place you'd like for us to try, just contact me and we'll work it out.
