Join author Cheluchi Onyemelukwe-Onuobia in conversation with Dundurn Press publisher Scott Fraser. Cheluchi is a lawyer and academic who specializes in health law and gender. She has done extensive work in advocating against and supporting legal reform on violence against women and children in Nigeria.
Onyemelukwe-Onuobia's novel, Son of the House, tells the story of how the lives of two Nigerian women divided by class and social inequality intersect when they're kidnapped, held captive, and forced to await their fate together.
The Son of the House, was shortlisted for the 2021 Scotiabank Giller Prize and won the Best International Fiction Prize at the 2019 Sharjah International Book Festival, the 2021 SprinNG Women Author’s Prize, and the 2021 Nigeria Prize for Literature.
