The Cost of Religion in Canada

At this time of year when most Canadians are preparing our taxes, we become more aware of our personal, and often undesired, financial contribution to religiosity in Canada.

Over the past year, CFIC has researched and written a series of reports about the Cost of Religion in Canada. “More than Just Money”, the final report in this 5 part series “More than Just Money” has just been released - find out more here.

The report will be presented by Leslie Rosenblood, CFIC Secular Chair and Sandra Dunham, CFIC Executive Director of Development, the co-authors and members of the CFIC leadership team. They will describe the current situation in Canada, its cost, and the reasons why (beyond the obvious financial implications) that government funding of religion is harmful to all Canadians. A Q+A and discussion session will follow.
