Why should you learn to dance??? Here is my 'why'!

Hi All,

If you are receiving this email, at some stage you decided it would be a good idea to join this group.

If you still haven't made it to a class, I'd love you to send me a message telling me what's holding you back.

I participated in my first dance lesson in 2010 (at this club) when my life was terrible. I was recently widowed after 22 years of marriage. I had two teenagers who where also grieving. I was working, settling my husband's estate and building a house (because my husband passed away just after the house project had started)...I only went a long to Ceroc because a counselor advised me to find something to do to give me some relief from all the pressure I was under. I was mentally exhausted and the busiest and saddest I'd ever been in my life...I felt like I had the whole world on my shoulders.

When times are tough we all need support and unfortunately professional help can be VERY expensive. Dancing literally became my therapy. Dancing gave me an affordable way to have a break from my thoughts. It got me active, helped me meet NEW people and introduced me to a safe way to socialize (without dating).

What's stopping you right now from prioritizing your own self-care?

It's almost 10 years since my life changed forever and almost 9 years since my first dance class (Aug[masked] - I noted the date in my diary because I realized very quickly how significant it was). My children are independent now and I recently started working for myself so I'm very busy again building my new business... but I've learned, life is short and my own health and well-being is important so dancing, every Thursday night is what I do, rain, hail or shine! (the mirror ball shines at night!).

Every week we have new beginners starting and approx 50 people attending so, regardless of the RSVP numbers you see here, you know it's going to be a great night.

I look forward to hearing you thoughts... and hope we can meet on the dance floor soon.

Natalie [masked])
