Parks of Port Salerno - Hobe Sound

Let's join our friends at Jupiter Recreation for a ride in Port Salerno.

Bring CAMERAS as this is a scenic ride with views of the harbor and of the St Lucie inlet and many photo stops along the way.

Meet at Seabranch Preserve State Park (1.5 miles south of Cove Rd on Old Dixie Hwy / A1A) at 9:00am, pedals up at 9:15am. Call English Dave 754-281-8199 if running late.

For exact location, punch 27.130811, -80.169377 into google maps or mapquest. From traffic circle at Cove Rd and Old Dixie, drive south 1.5 miles. Immediately north of the Railroad Xing, turn east and park on the swale to your immediate left. This is designated parking as you can see by the concrete sleepers and the sign "SEABRANCH". There is no entry gate and no admission charge. It's adjacent to the VFW building.

First leg (leisurely): new sidewalk trail to Loblolly and Peck Lake Park. Micro-hike to the boardwalk and secret beach. Back to Seabranch. That's it for the 10 milers!

2nd leg: to the micro-park at the end of Cove Rd then to Twin Rivers Park and thru Rocky Hammock back to the Port. 20-mile riders may now opt to return to base.

3rd leg: continue thru Manatee Pocket on to Sandsprit Park and back for 26 miles total. We might decide to munch after the ride. Pt Salerno has decent eateries - think coconut shrimp at Shrimpers!

There will be about 5 photo-stops. We will see 7 public parks - Peck Lake, Seabranch, Cove, Twin Rivers, Rocky Point Hammock, Manatee Pocket, Sandsprit - of which 4 have restrooms. No fees to pay at any of them.

What else to bring? HELMET, water. Spare tubes. Any type bike. We will be riding mostly on sidewalks, concrete bike paths, some road. Some of these sidewalks are not in great shape. Watch out for sand. This is urban riding and did I mention HELMETS are recommended.
