What we’re about
We will organise charity and fundraising events to gather money to support a project for children in need in Madagascar.
I had this dream since more than 10 years now, to build habitations for poor malagasy people living near where I originally come from, Ampitatafika, 15km from Tana the capital.
In January 2009 we went to Madagascar with the plan of building the first habitation, but we realised being there that it is not habitation that people need because they anyway live somewhere, what children need urgently are food and education. So we created a foundation Soamiely in Tana Madagascar when we were there. Once a week, we provide food and basic education to around 50 children. It is very very small but that is what we can do on our own for now.
The project is to build a house to be use as a Foyer where we will receive more children between 5 and 8 years who are not going to school yet for various reasons, and to provide them food and basic education more than once a week.
With this meetup group we will organise events and have fun, to raise money to support this project. The money that we make on our events will go entirely to this project.
