Hey, the Conference Room is a quiet place where we can control the lights, arrange the seating and crank up the sound. We've tried several places over the years but an ideal spot has been here all along, near the snack bar inside the Carolina Ice Palace (http://www.carolinaicepalace.com/).
It provides us private space, good sight lines, and comfort for an easy exchange of ideas in a quiet setting.
We have had 298 meetings and outings ...so far. Plus, many more small and impromptu ones.
Now we also are on FACEBOOK (http://tinyurl.com/o2jb7fo)! The field trips and photo walks usually are FREE so please look for them on FB, and here, and on the Discussions/Message Board. Then, sign up and plan to attend. A RSVP is very helpful, but if you do change your mind, please CANCEL.
In the past we've enjoyed the Summerville azaleas, Botany Bay, Bee City Petting Zoo, Port Royal, night shoots at the Coastal Carolina Fair, a walking tour of the College of Charleston campus, How to get your camera off Auto, Second Sunday, Third Thursday, use of ND filters, meteor showers, sunrises, sunsets, etc., etc.
We're MORE than just a monthly meeting. If there's a topic you want to be discussed or an outing to be set-up, just let us know. Look on the Discussion/Message Board for a place to add your thoughts.

Our Show & Tell is very popular and the Optional Theme for OCTOBER is "UP CLOSE". You know, put on your reading glasses, I usually squint, Is it Macro or Micro?, etc.
The photo above is from the Bessinger's First Wednesday Auto & Bike Show on Savannah Highway. Check it out next month.
Note: The theme is OPTIONAL. Shoot the theme if you wish but, also, bring some of your favorites which we all enjoy seeing. Please, a 10-picture maximum.
Put your entries on a "virus free" thumb drive, memory card, CD, etc. and hand it to Rudy at the start of the meeting. Don't forget to pick up your media afterward. We have way too many now. LOL.
Members have talked about studio lighting, renting lenses, off-camera flash, scenic Nature trails, Canon vs Nikon vs The Others, and "darkroom" plug-in tools to enhance photos.... these are presented NOT as lectures but as a shared learning experience in layman's terms.
Second Wednesday is turning out to be an informative - and fun - monthly social event.
Please bring a friend and join us at the Carolina Ice Palace. Thank you
P.S. ALWAYS bring your camera (or phone cam). Someone might say "Hey, I have THAT same one..how do you...?".
