Ring in the New Year: Write!

  • Taylor Books

226 Capitol Street, Charleston, WV (map)

    38.350418 -81.634125

  • Hang a left at the registers. We're in the art gallery!
  • Prompt: Toasting the New Year

Feel free to use the prompt or just bring something you're working on !

All writers are welcome at our workshop!

We encourage writers of any genre, experience, and skill level to join us as we share our work and encourage one another to follow the words.

If you want to share, please bring at least 10 copies of your piece to pass around. As we read the pieces at the meeting, we ask that they are kept to no more than 5 pages. (Pieces up to 7 pages can be dropped off and discussed at the next meeting.)

    How does it work?

Anyone who wants to share brings in their work and we try to get to each piece before our time runs out. We're all about kind and thoughtful critiques to help each other create our best work.

Each week we have a featured writer as well as works that might have been inspired by our weekly prompt. (But, don't worry, writing on the prompt is not a requirement. You are welcome and encouraged to bring in any piece you'd like to share and get feedback on.)

This event is free, but please thank and support Taylor's by purchasing books and buying goodies!

Also, don't forget we will be in a gallery space, so be mindful and respectful of the work of other artists as we hang out with their pieces.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!
