Are you a woman contributing to the boom of Charleston's growing tech industry? Even if you are new to the tech industry and are interested in learning how to become a part of this fast growing sector, join us! Charleston Women in Tech is a collaborative effort of Charleston’s women leaders, educators, and tech professionals to support and mentor women of all ages in the technology industry. At Charleston Women in Tech you can connect with other brilliant women from the Charleston tech community and discuss important topics such as work/life balance, working in a male dominated industry, and how to navigate the hiring process. We have a fantastic group of mentors and women leaders from throughout the community available to discuss these topics and share their insights. So come, learn, network, and be inspired by our panels, events, and forums!

We are so excited to hold our Mentorship Kick Off Event on October 6th at the College of Charleston Harbor Walk Campus.

The agenda will be as follows:

  • 3:30 Registration
  • 4:00 Guest Speaker, Debbie Cohn

  • 4:30 Mentor/Mentee meet up and first session
  • Followed by dinner & cocktail hour

Women of Cybersecurity: Influence and Opportunities

Join us at the Citadel's Buyer Auditorium as we hear from our invited keynote speaker - Ms. Wanda Jones-Heath - the Principal Cyber Advisor for the Department of the Air Force (comprised of the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force). As the Principal Cyber Advisor for the DAF, her duties include synchronizing, coordinating and overseeing the implementation of the DAF Cyber Strategy and advising the Secretary of the Air Force on all cyber programs. She is responsible for overseeing cyberspace recruitment; resourcing and training of cyber mission forces, as well as assessing their readiness; overseeing acquisition; advocate for cyber investments; cybersecurity supply chain risk management; security of information systems and weapon systems.

Ms. Jones-Heath will speak of her path to this field and the advice she would give other women interested in pursuing a career in cybersecurity. We will have plenty of time to network and mingle previous to the event and following.
