**Back to a 9:00 AM Start** 25 or 35 Miler Ride from Unknown Brewing

The Unknown Brewing Co.

BOTH rides will be leaving at 9:00 AM with the 35-mile ride leaving first. We practice group riding safety on this ride, including calling out road hazards and "Slowing" if we apply our brakes or the rider in front of us calls "Slowing". Bring a spare tire tube in case you get a flat. Bring a mask to wear into any public building in NC. You don't have to wear the mask while riding, but current NC law requires masks in public buildings. We will practice social distancing for this ride; in The Netherlands they believe that the appropriate social distance when you are bicycle riding, and breathing more heavily, is not just 6 feet but 20 feet. If you have any virus symptoms or have been around anyone who has a virus please do not attend this event, your fellow bicycle riders thank you. Ride Length: 25 or 35 Miles, you choose at the start. If you have not ridden at least 20 miles on a bicycle in the last few months, please consider one of the 15-mile CAC rides on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday evening before attempting this ride. Gloves, bright clothing, eye protection and a mirror are recommended. This is a no drop ride. All riders must be willing to stay with the group due to the many turns on this ride. If you pass the leader, you are on your own! Your bike must have brakes, as required by the Charlotte City Code. Restrooms are available at Mile 17 on the 25-mile route and at Mile 14 and at Mile 27 on the 35-mile route. We will re-group at least 6 times during the ride. Please bring plenty of water and snacks if needed. Bring money or a credit card if you plan on eating/drinking. A bike lock is recommended to lock your bike at the end. Weather Policy: The ride is cancelled if it is raining or if radar shows it will be raining by the start of the ride or if the temperature is below 33 degrees at the start of the ride. If the ride is cancelled I will send out a cancellation message to the email that you registered with on Meetup--so make sure you check that account before you leave for the ride. Sunday Breakfast Ride

BikeSource Charlotte

All riders agree to follow some basic group ride safety procedures: 1. Pay attention to the bicycle in front of you 2. Call out "Slowing" immediately if you use your brakes or the rider in front of you calls "Slowing" 3. Communicate all road hazards you observe to your fellow riders; "Car left", "Hole", "Car passing", etc. 4. Make sure you check beside you and behind you and communicate to the other riders if you want to move out from behind the bicycle in front of you. 5. Try to stay behind the bicycle in front of you or clearly move into a safe passing lane next to that bicycle; don't ride half-wheel 6. Communication with your fellow bikers is the key. 7. Ask questions at the start of the ride if you would like clarification of any of these guidelines. We will ride an 15 mile loop starting and ending at the Park Road Shopping Center.
