Join us for enjoyable social paced cycling in the Charlotte area: great rides, great people, nice places, fitness and fun.

We mountain bike and road ride any day of the week at various locations around the city and the surrounding area.

Please be advised that cycling can sometimes be a dangerous sport and by joining our group, you are solely responsible for your own safety. Helmets are mandatory and other protective gear, such as glasses and gloves, are highly recommended.

36 Mile Mint Hill to Stanfield Ride

Mint Hill Veterans Memorial Park

Ride length: 36 miles total (loop configuration) Ride level: moderate (due to hills) Pace: easy to moderate 13-15 mph (overall average) Elevation gain: +1,900 ft. Start time: 7:30 AM Duration: approx. 4 hours (including rest stops) Terrain: asphalt Traffic: low to moderate Rest stops w/ restrooms & refreshments: at mile 16 Bikes best suited for this ride: all types but ideal for road and hybrid bikes *Parking: The parking in the park will be on the grass by baseball fields. Normal parking is handicapped only, due to Memorial day weekend event. Follow signs to general parking. See uploaded pic. Along our route, we'll see beautiful corn fields, cow pastures and horse stables. ------------------------------ WEATHER POLICY: Ride is cancelled if it is raining at 9:30am. If the ride is cancelled, I will send out a cancellation message to the e-mail address that you registered with on Meetup - so make sure you check that e-mail account before coming. In addition, if the ride is cancelled I will add a cancellation message in the section below. ------------------------------- Notes: • All riders must be willing to stay with the group because we'll be making many turns on our route. • Traffic, unpredictable weather, dog incidents among other risk elements are factors riders assume individual responsibility when signing up for this ride. • This will be a "10 minutes no drop zone" ride, no one will be left behind within reason waiting 10 minutes unless mechanical or flats exceptions in which case you will need to call my cell. • Short stops as needed; long rest stop for restrooms and refreshments at mile 16. • Please bring plenty of water, tire tube, and snacks if needed. • Please have some form of ID with you in case of an emergency. • If you go ahead of the bike leader you are responsible for your own navigation. • Ensure your bike is in proper riding conditions and breaks are checked. • Bike helmets are mandatory on all rides; flashing head / tail lights, gloves, eye protection, and bright colored clothing are recommended. • If chance of thunderstorms, ride will be rescheduled. ------------------------------- Phone or text Maurice at[masked], if needed or not attending (Day of ride ONLY, please)

25 or 35 Miler Fun Ride

The Unknown Brewing Co.

There is no host for this ride; bring the route with you. Meeting at Unknown Brewery and riding 25 or 35 miles for fun as a group in the morning. Ride Length: 25 or 35 Miles Ride Level: Moderate (this ride has a few gentle climbs) Pace: Easy to Moderate (13-15 mph) Route Elevation: +/- 513' Start Time: 9:00am sharp (Meet at Unknown Brewing) Duration: Ride is about 2 - 2.5 hours and then a drink/meal afterwards Terrain: Roads; asphalt and concrete Traffic: Moderate Bikes best suited for this ride: Any, but road bikes are best _______________________________ Rules & Notes: Bike Helmets are mandatory on all rides. Gloves, bright clothing, eye protection and a mirror are recommended. This is a no drop ride. All riders must be willing to stay with the group due to the many turns on this ride. If you pass the leader, you are on your own! Your bike must have brakes, as required by the Charlotte City Code. Restrooms are available at Mile 17 and at the end of the ride. We will re-group at least 6 times during the ride. Please bring plenty of water and snacks if needed. Bring money or a credit card if you plan on eating/drinking. A bike lock is recommended to lock your bike at the end. Weather Policy The ride is cancelled if it is raining or if radar shows it will be raining by the start of the ride or if the temperature is below 33 degrees at the start of the ride. If the ride is cancelled I will send out a cancellation message to the email that you registered with on Meetup--so make sure you check that account before you leave for the ride. Sunday Breakfast Ride (Cafe South)

Mugs Coffee

This enjoyable 15 mile breakfast ride will be a loop starting and ending at Mugs Coffee. At around mile 5 we will stop for breakfast at Cafe South (http://www.cafesouthcharlotte.com/) in the west Charlotte neighborhood of Windsong Trails. Miles 10-13 we will explore the new section of the Little Sugar Creek trail out to I-485. ----------------------- Ride Details: Ride length: 15 miles total (loop configuration) Ride level: moderate (due to hills on route) Pace: easy (social) 10-11 mph Elevation gain: +850 ft. Ride lengths: 23 miles total (loop configuration) Ride level: moderate to strenuous (due to ride pace and short hill climbs) Pace: moderate to strenuous 16 to 19 mph (overall average) Elevation gain: +/-900 ft. Start time: 6:30 PM Duration: ~1 hour 30 min. Terrain: asphalt Traffic: low to moderate Bikes best suited for this ride: road and hybrid bikes ** flashing head / tail lights are highly recommended for safety ** ----------------------- Description: This enjoyable but challenging evening training road ride will take us through rural sections of Harrisburg and Concord. ----------------------- Notes: • Traffic, unpredictable weather, dog incidents among other risk elements are factors riders assume individual responsibility when signing up for this ride. • All riders must be willing to stay with the group because we'll be making many turns on our route. • This will be a "10 minutes no drop zone" ride, no one will be left behind within reason waiting 10 minutes unless mechanical or flats exceptions in which case you will need to call my cell. • Restrooms and water available at ride start only. • Short rest stops as needed, we re-group at every turn. • Please bring food and water. • Please have some form of ID with you in case of an emergency. • Ensure your bike is in proper riding conditions and breaks are checked.
