See all- Ride of Silence - Charlotte 2024Triple C Brewing Company, Charlotte, NC
WeeklyRides.com and Bike Law North Carolina are proud to once again sponsor the 2024 Ride of Silence - Charlotte. This annual event, part of a global movement, pays tribute to cyclists who have been injured or lost their lives in accidents involving motor vehicles. Its core mission is to advocate for road-sharing and raise awareness about bicycling safety.
The objectives of the Ride of Silence are clear:- To HONOR those affected by accidents.
- To RAISE AWARENESS of cyclists' presence on the road.
- To promote SHARING THE ROAD for everyone's safety.

While the specifics may vary from city to city, two traditions remain universal. Firstly, riders worldwide unite on the 3rd Wednesday of May at 7 pm, a symbolic gesture of solidarity. Secondly, participants ride in silence, a solemn tribute to those no longer with us and a moment for quiet contemplation.
In Charlotte, our motto is "Remember, Honor, and Celebrate." We gather to REMEMBER those we've lost, HONOR them with a reflective ride, and CELEBRATE their lives afterward, fostering community and camaraderie.
Join us on Wednesday, May 15th, at 6:45 pm for a brief pre-ride memorial. The ride begins promptly at 7 pm outside the Barrel Room, across from our venue host, Triple C Brewing. The route is short, and we'll be escorted by the police for added safety.
Let's come together to make our roads safer and honor those who've paved the way before us. See you there!Event Schedule
6:45pm - Pre-ride readings (Poem & Names)7:00pm - Our Ride of Silence begins in conjunction with others around the globe.
7:30pm - Return to the brewery for post-ride beers, food from Izzy's, live music, and comradery.
9:00pm - End of event
Notes: The ride will have the assistance of CMPD at significant intersections. We ride at a slow pace and do our best to keep all riders together. All riders should be comfortable riding on public roads open to motor vehicles. The route is best suited for adult riders. A parent or guardian must accompany children under the age of 18 at all times. There is no route support or SAG on this ride.
The Ride of Silence is a worldwide event. WeeklyRides.com and Bike Law NC organize the Charlotte, NC, ride as a service to the Charlotte cycling community. Please visit the national website ( https://rideofsilence.org/ ) for more information about the Ride of Silence or to find rides in other cities.
Lights are recommended. We will ride rain or shine.
