CASUG is a nonprofit organization that supports the growth and development of the Microsoft SharePoint Community across the Carolinas. This group works to keep it's members at the cutting edge on items such as new releases, techniques, product solutions, and real-world best practices from within in the community. We aim to have engaging meetings that are fun and valuable in a casual environment.

Case Study - Duke Energy Intranet on Office 365 - 2019 Top 10 Intranet

It’s been a year since Duke Energy launched their intranet on O365. In this session, they’ll talk about life in the Cloud using Microsoft’s Classic Experience, on-going content management processes and governance, lessons learned, and their plans for the future. You’ll get a demo of the site, with a behind-the-scenes look at how the team used SharePoint Framework to create a branded and unique experience for employees, all managed through a distributed content management model. Capricia Townes Capricia leads the visual design efforts for Duke Energy digital solutions, also contributing to the user experience. Her background includes conducting website audits, designing user interface (UI) systems, designing integrated creative campaigns, and creating brand identities for corporate and higher education clients. Martha Brown Martha has worked with Duke Energy’s intranet since its initial launch in 2001. She now serves as Product Owner for the intranet. Martha’s & the Portal team train and support approximately 140 site managers who provide Portal content for 110 Portal sites. Karissa Martindale Karissa is a SharePoint Front-End specialist with years of working knowledge in elevating the SharePoint user experience. Her passion for UX allows her to deliver the most value to her customers and their end users by identifying and solving the right problem. She believes having an eye on the ‘big picture’ and bringing teams together to share knowledge, experience and perspective ultimately leads to successful product implementations.
