Ski and Snowboard Meet-up January '22 - Trip No. 1

Details
Hey everyone. Hope you've been staying healthy!
Our club has been inactive of late, but we'd like to pull off a few day trips here in the region to get some things going again and gauge interest.
If you've always wanted to learn to ski or have experience and just haven't been out in a while join us for this series of trips.
For each one we'll leave from the Target at Northlake and will likely go to a different mountain for each time.
On the 29th we'll go to Winterplace Ski Resort in West Virginia only 3 short hours away! It's a great place to learn and offers respectable challenges for those with experience as well.
While skiing and snowboarding literally reflects socializing at a distance, we don't recommend carpooling with folks who you do not currently live with or that are outside of your bubble right now unless you are vaccinated, can manage to get tested within 48 hours of travel and can negotiate ride sharing with others who may be willing to take passengers.
Check the website for lift ticket costs both adult and child lift ticket pricing is shown beginners, you'll want to purchase either a learn to ski package (includes rentals and lessons) or a full day pass, but not the twilight session unless you plan to stay and ski that night. Lift tickets should be purchased in advance in order to guarantee that you will have access on the day of the trip.
If you need to rent equipment:
For beginners:
-Rent Ski's, snowboards, helmets and boots from the rental department at the mountain. That way you can trade out for adjustments / sizes if needed, It will be more cost effective to get the learn to ski pacakge.
-Watch and dress for the weather with waterproof or resistant jackets and pants; Dress in layers of non-cotton clothing that wicks, but does not retain moisture so that you stay dry and warm! Same for hats and sox, wear wool or acrylic.
-Bring a change of clothes for the ride back in particular. There are restrooms where you can change and lockers where you can store your smaller items if you choose not to leave them concealed in your vehicle.
For more advanced skiers: all of the above applies, however you may wish to rent equipment at home or off site to avoid the lines or obtain somewhat better equipment. However, renting at the mountain is always a convenient option.
If you decide to just meet us there, meet downstairs inside the rental area. Wear your masks. Wear or wave something blue so we know it's you!
Email Malcolm at archeye98@gmail.com or respond here, Once you've confirmed your attendance, we'll exchange mobile numbers separately.
We're really hoping many of you will join us! We want to lay the ground work to get everyone back up to snow sports speed. Our national organization will celebrate its 50 year anniversary next year in Colorado, Utah or some other location to be voted on in February. Let's get skiing and start to plan to show up for that event in force
We're keeping our events safe and simple! Bring your best energy and plan to have a fun and meet a few new people. If you like drama or want to be negative, this is not the get away for you OR US!
Sign up now and let's go have some fun!
