Graph-based machine learning is becoming an important trend in Artificial Intelligence, transcending a lot of other techniques. Using graphs as a fundamental representation of data for ML purposes has several advantages: (i) the data is already modeled for further analysis, explicitly representing connections and relationships between things and concepts; (ii) graphs can easily combine multiple sources into a single graph representation and learn ‘over them’, creating Knowledge Graphs; (iii) which improves computation potential, performance and quality. The talk will discuss these advantages and present applications in the context of recommendation engines and natural language processing.

Please join us for this inaugural Charlotte Graph DB (https://tinyurl.com/CLTGraphDBMeetup), also brought to you by our friends at H20.ai CLT AI/DL Meetup (https://www.meetup.com/Charlotte-Artificial-Intelligence-Deep-Learning/events), and sponsored by Neo4j (https://neo4j.com) and GraphAware (https://graphaware.com).

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Dr. Alessandro Negro, Chief Scientist ATGraphAware, is the main author of the first recommendation engine ever built on the graph database Neo4j, and author of the upcoming Manning book: Graph-Powered Machine Learning (https://tinyurl.com/DrNegroBook). Dr. Negro has over 15 years of experience in software development and architectures as well as speaking at many prominent conferences such as Java One, Oracle Open World, Graph Connect and Predictive Analytics World. He specializes in recommendation engines, knowledge graphs, NLP and overall Machine Learning, based on graph technology. Currently, he is leading a team in GraphAware developing Hume- a next generation intelligence platform built on cutting-edge NLU, network science, ML/DL and Graph tech (Neo4j).

PARKING & ENTRY

For anyone driving and parking in the Spaces building lot- it is an inexpensive evening rate of ~$5/nightly rate after about 5pm, see directions below.

Walk past the security desk and we are around the corner in the Atrium lobby outside of the Marriott and Coco & The Director.

-----------------------------
DIRECTIONS

To the 101 N Tryon St (Independence Building) parking deck - when you are coming towards city center make sure you are traveling south on Church Street (it is a one-way). Once you pass over the 5th street intersection, stay in the left lane and about halfway up the block you will see a sign for "101 Independence" (after the Ivey's garage and before the Marriott hotel).

If you've gotten to Trade St you've gone too far, so just hang a right on Trade, right on Poplar, and right on 5th, right on Church and try again The "Spaces Parking" attachment also has a street view of the deck you will be turning into.

Once you make the turn in the garage, stay to the right to get into the parking deck. All spaces are first come, first serve. If you follow the deck around about 3/4 of the way you will make it to the elevator bank (3 levels - G1, G2, G3) for convenient parking.
