For many, Argentine Tango has always been a mysterious, passionate, and elusive dance. Have you been curious about Tango? Here’s your chance to learn with an excellent teacher.
Beginners’ and Intermediate classes are now being offered every Monday at Lynn's Dance Club near Tryon and Woodlawn Road. It is followed by El Abrazo, an informal gathering called a “practica” that brings more advanced dancers.
Natalia Kansburg is our teacher and will share the authentic culture, customs and etiquette of Tango in Buenos Aires.
Natalia began her dancing career at the age of five in the Soviet Union - first with ballet and folkloric dancing, followed by ballroom and Latin dances. For fifteen years she performed and taught with a Latin American dance company based in New Jersey. She discovered Tango in Buenos Aires in 2008 and has been hooked ever since. She was trained by the best masters of tango while living in Buenos Aires and learned its language and culture.
Before moving to the Charlotte area just a few months ago, she taught and performed at a variety of locations in New York and New Jersey, as well as being a guest instructor across the country. Her teaching style
makes dance concepts easy to understand by focusing on floor movement and the leader/follower relationship.
Tango is like an onion, there are layers upon layers of meaning, and sometimes it makes you cry (for joy.) Tango is a dance of romance, connection and friendships. You will meet and dance with very interesting people from all over the world.
All are welcome to these classes, whether you’re experienced with other dance styles or a total beginner. Join our warm, welcoming Tango community in Charlotte and beyond. No partner needed.
