What we’re about
This is a group for anyone interested in learning about and playing contemporary board and card games, party games, whatever you like to play. We meet monthly for most of the year at Elkins Park Library. If you are completely new to the board game hobby, then this is the perfect place to start and make friends.
- All experience levels are welcome! Attend with a friend.
- Bring your favorite games to play and teach.
- Borrow games from the library's collection.
- Join our community online on our Discord channel (free)
Each month we'll try to have a featured game, or a theme. (For example, something spooky around Halloween like Mysterium or Gloom or Werewolf.) At least one table will host a game from that theme and will be prepared to teach that game. Feel free to bring your own games to teach, themed or not.
Examples of popular games we've played:
- Wingspan
- Ticket to Ride
- Heat
- The Crew
- Sushi Go!
Some people bring party games. Some bring more intense games. Others like traditional games. Bring what you want to play. However the most important thing to bring is an open mind so you can meet new people and learn a new game.
We hope you can join us.
If you join our group, please make sure your photo is of you and up-to-date so we can recognize and greet you at the event.
Monthly Game Swap
The Elkins Park Library has agreed to hold a monthly game swap with our group. You can bring in any games you don't want to keep and put on the swap table, and take any games from that table. Any games that are left will go into the next Used Book Sale. If they stay after that, they'll be back on the swap table next time we meet.
A donation to the library for any game you take is recommended. Perhaps at least $5/game, at your discretion.
Best Behavior Policy

Welcome
Have a fun night out playing board and card games with our group. Volunteers will host tables featuring a variety of games. No prior knowledge of the games are needed, just your interest in having fun and learning new games. Optionally, you can bring a game you love to teach and play.
The games vary by host but it has ranged from traditional games like Rack-o, to party games to word games, to modern Euro games like Catan and Wingspan. The library also has games you can borrow to play.
