Decide to be a DRIVEN Product Owner with Geoff Watts

For our second Feb meetup we've got local hero Geoff Watts giving us a taste of his new book "Product Mastery: From Good to Great Product Ownership". There'll be tea and biscuits and a free beer in the pub afterwards in return for a £3 donation for our venue Deepspaceworks.

Good product owners delay when they can. Great product owners decide when they must.

Kenny is a product owner.

Kenny needs to make a decision.

Kenny doesn’t have all the information.

Does Kenny decide or delay?

One of the most difficult yet important aspects of being a great product owner is learning how to be decisive in the face of incomplete information or conflicting priorities. When decisions are difficult it’s tempting to put them off—to do a bit more research or talk to a few more people first.

Great product owners know this so are DRIVEN to make decisions.

Knowing it and doing it are often two different things though and so I will talk through a few strategies for making it easier to make decisions and help you be a great product owner.
