Aquia Landing (formerly known as YouBeDam Landing) is a nice kayak launch spot still new to me and many others. We had our first exploratory paddle from there in March and have been eager to return. For this outing, assume an exploratory paddle distance of 10-12 miles – including some open water. Depending on conditions and the interests of the participants, we will either head northwesterly up Aquia Creek, or we’ll head southerly along the wide Potomac River, then west into Potomac Creek for a lunch stop with the eagles near Boykins Island – part of the Crows Nest Preserve.
