A PFD (Personal Floatation Device) is required for all of our paddles. Do you have your own PFD or have acces to one?

I have a PFD

Please tell us a little about your previous kayaking experience. It's okay if you don't have a lot of experience.

I originally started kayaking in Harford County back in 2008 paddling in Deer Creek. After that I was hooked. Been kayaking around with several of the other local kayaking social groups and associations. As far as skills go I've done the mandatory wet water exits, have practiced getting back in a boat with a paddle float, and have own mostly all mandatory safety equipment. I cannot roll (yet), don't have tow rope, or radio.

What kind or type of kayak(s) do you own? If you'll be renting or borrowing from a friend that's okay too. We also have rental kayaks for members to use.

I have a 14' Necky Manitou with a skeg a few season later. It's been a great boat.

Why do you kayak? Some people paddle to relax and get away from it all outdoors, others to stay fit. The real crazies paddle just for the joy and fun of it. What's your reason?

I've always been an outdoors person most of my life. I was always hiking and biking previously. Kayaking was just another outdoor adventure to go on. Since I'm a gear head too all the kayaking equipment becomes a little addictive.

What do you hope to get out of joining this group? Some people want to improve their paddling skills others just want to socialize with fellow paddlers. Is there anything special you're looking for?

Looking forward to more time and availability to socialize with other kayakers.

Introduction

Hi there. Been paddling a kayak for the last 5 years. I'm always looking for people to go out with and glad to see that there are plenty of social groups these days for a gear centric hobby like kayaking.
