Coffee & Chess: Tampa Midtown

You can expect a casual laid back environment while enjoying a game or multiple games of chess with some friendly banter. Depending on who you play with they may prefer a more quiet game, playing with a clock, or a more socializing experience (the latter is my personal preference).

Feel free to come and go as you like. No need to show up right at the starting time. If you have a chess board and pieces, feel free to bring them. There will usually be a few extra boards and pieces, if not, you can just pull up a chair and grab the next game. You can purchase refreshments in Wholefoods (they have an amazing assortment of fresh baked goods, snacks, and beverages).

We'll likely be in their outdoor seating area with a chess board already set up. FYI, this is a recurring meeting but I will always comment on the event page for the weeks I will be able to make it personally--- sometimes i'm traveling or have other obligations so I won't be able to make it every weekend, but we usually have some regulars that will be there to play.

In the event no one shows up by about 10:30, i'll probably pack up and try again next time.
