This is a lovely meander over the hills of Moel y Parc and Penycloddiau, before taking a scenic winding path back to our start point. The walk is ten miles and after climbing the two hills – which are fairly gradual climbs – the walk is level and on good paths with stunning views over the Vale of Clwyd. To round off the day, we’ll have a drink in the (relatively) newly opened Dinorben Arms in Bodfari, which is an excellent pub!

We will set off from Aberwheeler at 11am.

Aberwheeler is just off the A541 Mold to Denbigh road.

From Wrexham, head to Mold and then follow the signs to Denbigh.

From Chester, the best way is to get onto the A55 and come off at the Caerwys junction. Follow the road through Caerwys and then at the bottom of the hill (with Afonwen Craft Centre ahead of you) turn right onto the A541 towards Denbigh.

Follow the A541 to the village of Bodfari and immediately after passing through Bodfari, turn left. You will arrive in Aberwheeler after about half a mile. There is a bus stop on the left hand side with parking for several cars (no buses run on a Sunday so we should be fine to park there) or if this is full, then turn immediately left, where there is parking by the side of the road. The postcode LL16 4BT should get you close if you are using a Satnav, but don't rely on it to get you to the exact spot! Allow about 40 minutes from Wrexham or Chester.

Upon arrival please make yourself known to the walk leader, Pamela. There is no charge for the walk but if you plan to come regularly there is an annual £10 fee. Please refer to our website for further information:

Please note that we circulate details of all our events (including some that don't appear on Meetup) via email to our paid up members, most of whom aren't in Meetup. This means that the numbers attending events will be considerably higher than the Meetup numbers would indicate - and this is the reason why our available Meetup places on events are sometimes set on the low side. Please note club rules do not allow dogs or children under 18.
