What we're about

We are a small, friendly and welcoming group where you can make friends and enjoy an excellent social life.

We host a wide variety of events including Weekly Cinema, Monthly Board Games Nights, Eating Out, Ten Pin Bowling, Cocktail Nights, Walks, and lots more. We also arrange holidays currently UK based.

Don’t worry about approaching a group of strangers, our event hosts are happy to meet you outside the venue. You will be made to feel instantly welcome and among friends.

You must be 18 years or over to join this group which include guests.
Our age group is 40+.

Please do not request to join if you do not intend participating in group activities. And be aware this is NOT a dating group. Failure to respond to the welcome message or being inactive for 3 months or more will result in your automatic removal from the group. Please advise the group Organiser if there is any reason you are unable to participate in events. *****************************************************************************
TO JOIN - Your real name is necessary and your Meetup profile must display a Recent, Clear and Recognisable photograph of yourself. No children please. We need to be able to identify you at events.

MEMBERSHIP - The Annual £10 Membership is charged within 7 days of attending your first event. If you do not return to the site within 6 months you will be removed from the group.  If you leave or are removed and request to rejoin the membership fee will be required.

RSVP’s – If you wish to attend an event RSVP Yes. Please do not just show up because there could be others on the Wait List and would prove embarrassing for yourself and awkward for the Host. You only need to say No to events that you have previously said Yes to and can no longer attend. Please keep your RSVP’s updated which includes events where you are on a Wait List. If you are added onto an event from a Wait List you will receive an email notification from Meetup. Please make sure your Email notification box in your profile is ticked ON and look out for Reminders/Emails/Notifications to these events. Otherwise you could miss out or be replaced by someone else.

If you are having difficulty navigating the site please contact the Organiser. If there is any reason you are unable to attend events for whatever reason, please let the organiser know.

NO-SHOWS- Members who repeatedly fail to turn up to events which you have signed up for will be removed from the group after the third No Show. If for any reason you have been unable to attend please leave a message on the event or contact the Host at your earliest convenience.

PAYMENTS/DEPOSITS – Any monies taken for theatre tickets, weekends/holidays, restaurant bookings, ten pin bowling etc., are paid into the group's bank account until required.

GUESTS - if a guest attends 3 separate events that guest will be required to join the group.

HOSTS, EVENT ORGANISERS, the ORGANISER - are not responsible for you. It is up to you to know whether you are able to, and fit enough to attend an event such as walks, ten pin bowling, holidays, etc. You are responsible for looking after yourself and your own well-being, and paying your membership fees and any other monies requested on time.
