What we’re about

## What we’re about

We are a small, friendly and welcoming group where you can make friends and enjoy an excellent social life.

We host a wide variety of events to suit most people including our monthly Board Games Nights, Pub Quiz, Book Club, Ten Pin Bowling, Meals Out, Birthday Celebrations, Cinema, Breakfast Club, Afternoon Tea, Lunch, Sunday Lunch, Escape Rooms, Monthly Social, Christmas Social, New Years party (even Axe Throwing on occasion), and we'ere open to more and new ideas.

TO JOIN - Your real name is necessary, and we require that your profile includes a clear picture of yourself so others can identify you at our events. Head and shoulders is preferable. Please do not copy and paste a photo from another application. Should your photograph not be acceptable, your application to join will be declined and a request for another photograph will be messaged to you.

Don’t worry about approaching a group of strangers, our Event Hosts are happy to meet you outside the venue. You will be made to feel instantly welcome and among friends.

SETTINGS - please make sure your profile settings are set so that you receive emails from the group, otherwise you will miss out when a new event has been posted or important information regarding any events you have RSVP’d.

MEMBERSHIP - £12:00 pa - please pay within a week of attending your second event. Meetup.com charge organisers an annual fee to run these groups. Organising a Meetup group is completely voluntary.

INACTIVITY - If you are deemed an inactive member, you may be removed from the group. To prevent your unnecessary removal, please let me (the Organiser) know if there is any reason you are unable to attend events, this could be due to social anxiety or illness or some other reason.

If you have not revisited the site between 6-12 months nor attended any events, you are likely to be removed as an inactive member.

Be aware that this is NOT A DATING SITE so please do not treat this group like one. Couples have met and relationships have formed through this group which is fantastic, however, unwanted messages or harassment of members will mean that member will be permanently removed from this group.

AGE RANGE - most of our members are 30's - 70's and everyone mixes very well and all enjoy an excellent social life.

You must be at least 18 years of age to join this group.

RSVP’s –If you or your guest cannot attend an event you had registered for, please have the courtesy to update your RSVP the night before so others have a chance to take your place.

Some events have limited space so there will be a wait list. If you end up on a wait list please keep an eye open for updates to advise if you have been added to said event. This can be hours before the event as people can drop out at the last minute. Please keep your RSVPs updated should you change your plans.

PLUS ONE'S – some events allow you to bring a guest, providing there is room. A plus one may attend events with you occasionally, however, if the plus one becomes active within this group, they will be required to join and pay the required membership.

NO-SHOWS - After the Third “No Show” to events which you have signed up for, you will be removed from the group. If for any reason you have been unable to alter your RSVP, please leave a message on the event or contact the Event Host/Organiser at your earliest convenience.

PAYMENTS/DEPOSITS – Any monies taken for theatre tickets, restaurant bookings, ten pin bowling etc., are paid into the group's bank account until required.

TERMS OF SERVICE
By accessing and using the service of the Meetup platform, entering your RSVP, and continuing to attend our events, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions…

DISCLAIMER - It is up to you to know whether you can and are fit enough to attend an event such as walks, ten pin bowling, holidays, etc.  In no event will anyone be liable to any party for any direct, indirect, consequential, or other damages arising from attending an event. Attendance is at your own risk. You are responsible for looking after yourself and your own well-being and paying your membership fees and any other monies requested on time. The Organizer, co-organizer, host, and Meetup are not responsible for loss, damage, theft, injury to oneself or equipment or allergic reactions.

CLIQUES/UNREASONABLE BEHAVIOUR - will not be tolerated in this group. Many friendships have formed, and people are socialising both within the group and outside. People have made friends and naturally gravitate toward those they know or have something in common with.  Everyone in this group should be friendly, accommodating and welcoming to all.

So, bring your fun-loving, healthy attitude along and be committed to showing up and enjoy an excellent social life. Once you are settled into the group, if you choose, you are welcome to add your own events which will add more variety.
We look forward to meeting you soon.
