What we're about

We welcome everyone who would like to play soccer on a regular base. The main objective is having fun together. Currently we play at Murch Elementary on Sunday mornings and Saturdays afternoon.

GENERAL REMARKS

COVID19 MEASURES:
1. WEAR A MASK (I know it is very difficult to play with a mask but we should wear them for everyone's safety given that we will sometimes be closer to onr another than 6ft)

2. NO USE OF HANDS WHILE DEFENDING/WEAR GLOVES WHATSOEVER. (Avoid touching the other as much as possible. While this will affect gameplay, we should take every precaution for our community)

3. BRING UR SANITIZER. Sanitize hands ON THE FIELD BEFORE PLAYING, DURING WATER BREAK, ANE AFTER PLAYING.

4. IF YOU ARE SICK OR IF YOU HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS, DO NOT SHOW UP.

5. If you cannot abide by THE ABOVE COVID 19 measures, you will be asked to LEAVE. 0 tolerance policy will be implemented.

JUST SO EVERYONE IS CLEAR: the website as of May 27 says that “the CDC currently recommends no organized sports or activities, given the many challenges of containing the virus in group settings.” More specifically, the CDC website states the following: “In general, most organized activities and sports such as basketball, baseball, soccer, and football that are held on park fields, open areas, and courts are not recommended during times in which individuals are encouraged or required to practice social distancing. These activities and sports typically require coaches and athletes who are not from the same household or living unit to be in close proximity, which increases their potential for exposure to COVID-19.

Given the huge demand, we had to limit the Meetups to a maximum of 16 players. To play, you must register for each meetup (on a first come first served basis). Once the Meetups are full, there is a waiting list and you can still get a seat if players cancel. If you are not on the list, please do not drop by, as we can only play with a maximum of 16 players. [DUE TO COVID, MAX NUNBER HAS BEEN ADJUSTED TO 10.

BY JOINING AND/OR PARTICIPATING, YOU CERTIFY THE FOLLOWING:

I certify that playing soccer may be risky and dangerous. I realize that those risks include, but are not limited to, permanent paralysis and death, and may result from slips, falls, collisions, equipment failure, bad decision-making, inattentive players and from equipment that has become worn, loose or damaged. I understand that there are unforeseeable accidents. While particular rules, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce this risk, I acknowledge the risk of injury does exist. etc

Chevy Chase Pick-up Soccer meetup group is in no way responsible for any injury or harm caused while you attend the meetup. The risk is completely yours.
