The Wonderful World of Twitter Bots

Join us on Thursday, December 1 at 6 pm to explore the wonderful (and sometimes disturbing) world of Twitter bots. We will be meeting at WeWork River North. Please note this is a different location than the first meetup.

Why Twitter?

Facebook Messenger and Slack might get the bulk of platform coverage, but users are regularly exposed to Twitter bot interactions especially during political campaigns. Research shows that 25% of conversations (http://www.recode.net/2016/11/1/13488020/trump-bots-clinton-twitter-third-debate-twitterbots-election) surrounding the final debate were from Twitter bots faking grassroots support, disparaging opponents, and more.

We've invited group member Adam Kraft to lead a discussion on building Twitter bots. His work has been featured in CNN and the New York Times. Check out the links below and bring questions!

If you have not attended before, read below to learn more about the event:

Why should I attend?
Because new ideas and connections in the real world can be beneficial.

We are creating a monthly space for developers, marketers, and entrepreneurs to discuss chatbots along with supporting technologies, platforms, and growth strategies.

Future meetups will include panel discussions and presenters, but the first installation is an opportunity to meet fellow builders and enthusiasts.

What will be discussed?
Whatever you chose to discuss!

If you're not sold on an evening of open discussion with like-minded people, here are some specific conversation starters you can use:

• For what use cases are messaging platforms are better than apps?

• Do you have any experiences using bot building platforms?

• What tools have you used to add intelligence to your bot?

• What is your favorite bot currently in the marketplace?

• Do you think Facebook, Google, or IBM will win this leg of the A.I. race?
