Stay on Track Through the Holidays
The holiday season is a unique time of year that can be emotionally charged and extra busy with all of the social gatherings that typically revolve around food and alcohol. Perhaps you dread the holidays and can’t wait for January so you can dive right into your New Year’s resolution. Or, maybe you consider the month of December a free-for-all and will get back on track in January. What if this year could be different and you could enjoy the holiday season while meeting your health, weight and wellness goals without feeling deprived? Instead of writing off the month of December, you can find the middle ground. During this workshop, you will: * Learn how to quickly prepare meals when time is limited during the holidays while supporting your body * Gain awareness of what your triggers are during the holidays that lead to stuffing yourself with some of your favorite foods * Identify what you need in order to stay satiated and satisfied going into events. (Hint: Avoiding the food and alcohol is not the solution!) WHAT TO EXPECT: Certified Holistic Health Coach, Laura B. Folkes and Personal Chef, Sarah Eden will kick off the evening with a short presentation and then you’ll be guided through exercises to help identify your triggers through the holidays and what you want out of them. Sarah will also do a cooking demonstration and will provide tips of how to set up your pantry and prepare foods to nourish you when time is limited. There will be time for Q&A and brainstorming steps for you to take action while connecting with others, enjoying light bites & drinks and participating in productive conversation. Please arrive promptly as the event will begin at 6:30 (the doors will open at 6:15 if you’d like to arrive early). LEARN MORE OR SIGN UP: COST: * Early bird pricing until 11/21: $45 * Pricing after 11/21: $55 ABOUT GUEST SPEAKER, SARAH EDEN, PERSONAL CHEF: Sarah Eden is a plant focused culinary instructor and founder of Improve Through Food. Though mostly self-taught, she is a trained Plant Based Nutritionist and has been teaching in the natural foods industry since 2004. Sarah is on a mission to bring back home cooking and redefine the definition of “standard” in Standard American Diet. She understands that people are unique in their body’s constitution and that there is no magical diet suitable for every body but all bodies thrive on daily meals full of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and healthy fats. Sarah works in her client’s homes and teaches them how to build a pantry and cook using the foods found in their kitchen with no recipe. She also hosts corporate Lunch & Learns, meal preps for families, caters for yoga and health retreats, and hosts private cooking parties. Health begins in the kitchen and it brings Sarah joy to show her clients that healthy cooking is easy and delicious.
