About the Workshop

Join us to learn and create our first Leaflet map! Leaflet is an open-source Javascript library for mobile-friendly interactive maps. Similar to Google Maps, it provides a presentational layer to geographical data. No Javascript experience is required.

About the Speaker

Diego is a front-end developer at IBM and MS Software Engineering grad student at DePaul. He is interested topics related to design, accessibility, and code testing. He has used Leaflet to create an interactive visualization related to racial disparities in school suspensions in Texas.

Other Notes

You can arrive as early as 5:30 to mingle and get settled. Workshop will start promptly at 6pm.

Thanks to Braintree for hosting and providing drinks and noms! RSVPs will stop being accepted at noon on the day of the event. An ID will be required to enter. (Please reach out if this is an issue for you.) Gender-neutral bathrooms available at this location.
