What we’re about

This group is open to anybody, male or female, going through divorce, separation or through a challenging breakup in general.  While we can't fix your problems, we can certainly show you that you are not the only one who feels like this.  I'd like to think that you get out what you put into this group.  The people that are most successful are the ones that open themselves up to the process with an open mind and heart.  People find it hard to make the first step to come to a meeting.  I will often hear afterwards how they had wished they had attended months before.

We generally function as an open forum where people can vent their feelings and frustrations, ask questions of each other and generally share their commonalities.  I try to mix it with some tough love and a bit of humor to cut the tension.

Our members are of all ages and come from all walks of life.  Some members have huge support networks, others not so much.  Some are the victims of abuse or infidelity.  Whoever you are and whatever your story, you are more than welcome to attend.

We generally meet once a month at a bar in the Chicago Lakeview area to discuss our situations and help each other in any way we can.  As our membership continues to grow there has been some discussions about having a second meeting every month during the week or in a different location.  Suggestions are always welcome.

As the name implies, this is a support group, not a single's mixer.  Meetup has some great single's groups I'm sure, but we are not one of them.  That is not to say we don't have a good time sharing our experiences and life lessons.
