What we're about

This page is for those interested in the Chicago Femunch to stay up to date on the bi-monthly ladies munch and our other sponsored activities. The Femunch is for the womyn's community, trans and cis, queer and straight. Also, trans-masculine/GQ kinksters who feel connected the women's community are welcome.

We're in the process of building a radical feminist and queer space in the Chicago BDSM community. This platform is a given for the Femunch, as well as sexy fun!

We host it at Azucar in Logan Square every other Wednesday: Follow us for event announcements!

We'd would love to hear your ideas, questions, interests, politics, and topics to bring to the munch, along with all sorts of shout outs! Post-munch thoughts (even a missed connection) can all come here! This is your community.

It rids the colonized of their inferiority complex, of their passive and despairing attitude. It emboldens them and restores their self-confidence. When they have used violence to achieve national liberation, the masses allow nobody to come forward as “liberator.” They prove themselves to be jealous of their achievements and take care not to place their future, their destiny, and the fate of their homeland into the hands of a living god." ~Frantz Fanon Concerning Violence In June 2017, two women were raped in broad daylight, one on the South Side, and one on the North Side of Chicago. On the bus, the gym, bars, and certainly on the streets, a woman's space is always provisional, governed by the whims of men. Both White Supremacy and White Male Patriarchy continue to hasten this crumbling economic and social order, which means gender violence will only become more drastic. It's time for women to band together and learn to physically resist while implementing ways to protect one another. "At the height of the Black Panther Party, Black Women were the majority. And a lot of the community programs including political education, weapons training, and martial arts were organized and lead by us." ~Ashanti Alston Omowal

The FEMUNCH 5 Year Anniversary!

Azucar

Hedonists and Queers! This Wednesday is our 5 Year Anniversary of the Femunch!!!!! We'll be celebrating in a big way: Queer Qaraoke! Bring your vocal cords, your best LQQKS, a song you prefer, and good vibes to celebrate with us! House Made Sangria is $5, and we'll have food specials too. Please message us with songs you want on Qaraoke so we can have them prepared for everyone! Karaoke starts at 8pm and onward til we're exhausted. Remember, the Femunch is for Women/GQ only. No Cis-Men allowed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ For all of Chicago's depraved dames, lascivious libertines, devious dykes, and brazen babes of all kinds: The Femunch is upon us once again! We'll be at our home, Azucar, for our usual drinking, dining, deviance, and debauchery! *NO Cis-gendered men allowed!* ...Do you have to be "kinky"? Nope, you just have to be down with the different and the dirty ;) *We are doing the Femunch bi-weekly, and join our group page for event updates! ((Reminder: Please read the event description. This event is for womyn-identified and those along the gender-queer spectrum only)) THE FEMUNCH WHO: We love femmes, but despite the title, we’re also all about butches, straights, trans, intersex, and gender queers! Ladies of all sexual orientations and kink roles are encouraged to come. All self identified women, and also trans-masculine/GQ friends who feel connected to the female community, are welcome. We are open to all those actively living/presenting as what trans means in their life. (Ages 18+). The Femunch was created with the female, queer, and trans community in mind. Despite our different experiences, we’ve felt like we have more reasons to come together and collaborate for what we want to see in our kink community. WHERE: @2647 N Kedzie Ave. (Across from the Blue Line Logan Square stop) Please support our hosting business and buy drinks or food! WHEN: Wednesday every two weeks (unless we say otherwise), starting at 7pm and onward! Azucar is open for us until 2AM. WHY: We wanted not just a safe, but also, stimulating space to get together, to create our own event based on our needs and ideals in the Chicago kink scene, and elsewhere. As women and queers, we wanted a feminist and queer empowered place to vent, chill, re-group, and make plans on our terms. We chose Azucar based on the queer support and diversity the bar and restaurant has fostered in the Logan Square community, and their approval as a safe space, both inside and with its close access to public transportation. We have the novel idea that good times, radical politics, interpersonal sexiness, and group accountability can all occur at the same time. The Femunch is an active proponent of safe spaces in the Chicago queer community and kink scene. Munch leaders are available for any questions, concerns, and guidance: Abusive or violating actions or language will not be permitted, and organizers will be aware of banned abusers, and we reserve the right to remove or ban harassing individuals from the event. All terms are regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, ability, and kink roles.
