Come join us for the Chicago Language Cafe meetup! This is an event where you can make some new friends and practice speaking a language that you are learning or already know. There will be a table for each language represented, and you can sit at whichever table whose language you want to speak. We almost always have Spanish, German, French, Chinese, Portuguese, Italian, and Russian tables. There will also be an English table for those who would like to practice their English, or for those that don't speak any other languages and would just like to hang out and have a drink with some like-minded people.
For other languages, I will compile your RSVP answers and make a post a few days before the event sharing the ones that people are interested in. We usually have a few people who speak Polish, Arabic, Japanese, Dutch, Serbian, ASL, Croatian, etc. As long as there are two people who speak a language, they are welcome to make a table!
The Twisted Hippo in Albany Park is a short walk from the Francisco brown line stop. They are kind enough to be hosting us, so everyone should purchase something to support them during the event. They have delicious beers and food, as well as coffee/tea for those who don't drink alcohol. All of their prices include tax, and the best part: they make it a point to pay their employees a living wage, so you are NOT expected to tip!
Hope to see you there!
