Special Guest Speaker Ben Lichtenstein Explains S&P Pit Trading

Details
You know him as the voice behind the blow-by-blow action from the S&P 500 Pit as heard on Traders Audio ( http://tradersaudio.com/ ) and on the Think or Swim Market Cast channel. You have also seen him on CNBC and now Ben Lichtenstein is coming to our club to give us the inside scoop on how the S&P Pit trading works.
It's not very often that we get an opportunity to speak one-on-one with an industry insider. Do your best to clear your schedule for this event.
Bio: TradersAudio started out about 15 years ago. I (Ben Lichtenstein) started as a clerk for a futures trader who spread the S&P and Dow Jones futures contacts. He needed to know what was happening in the S&P because the trade in the Dow was based on the S&P price. If I was quoting a price in the S&P and misquoted the price (slippage) it caused the trade to be worthless.
Quickly, I learned the importance of fast, factual, and concise information, especially for those not able to watch the trading floor live. I eventually spoke to the clerk and we both decided that I would just focus on TradersAudio and not work as a clerk any longer.
Being on the trading floor for a long time, I have learned price activity and how the human element factors into the markets. It took me years to be able to read people's faces and see how they
are handling a position emotionally. Key events over the past years, such as: Greenspan's "irrational exuberance", the events of 9/11, MF Global and the Flash crash, have made me a more mature broadcaster and thereby increase the quality of my broadcasts as well.
The focus of TradersAudio is to provide fast information relevant to trading. There is a lot of information developing throughout the day, whether it be buyers, sellers, options activity or news. We
try to provide all the information your charts can't tell you such as players. Local activity tends to have less conviction, whereas institutional activity has more conviction.
I am extremely proud of our customer service here at
TradersAudio. We treat each customer as individual as opposed to just a credit card number. TradersAudio maintains a commitment to honesty and integrity despite any circumstances that may arise. In addition, we work extremely hard to bring you a consistent service with relevant information. We are usually the first on the floor and the last to leave.
